La Leona
Halfway between El Calafate and El Chaltén, along the legendary Route 40, stands a place rich in history and adventure: the La Leona Inn and Country Hotel, a Historical and Cultural Heritage site of Santa Cruz.
More than 110 years of incredible stories: from the attack of a puma on the very Perito Moreno (who gave the place its name), to the secret stay of the legendary outlaws Butch Cassidy and Sundance Kid during their flight to Chile.
Today, this Patagonian refuge invites you to take a break: have a coffee with homemade cake, walk around its surroundings, or simply contemplate the landscape, just as explorers, climbers, and dreamers from all over the world did.

Chorrillo del Salto
It is a simple and short hike that goes into the hillside forest, until reaching a waterfall that exceeds 20 meters in height.
This route is ideal as a first experience in the nature of El Chaltén, as it goes through an accessible forest area with no physical demands. Upon reaching the end of the trail, the waterfall and the stream provide a suitable space to rest and enjoy the surroundings protected by native vegetation.

Viewpoint of the cóndores
As its name suggests, the viewpoint is located in a privileged spot to observe the flight of the condors, which often move to and from the Fitz Roy river valley.
From this point, a prominent view of the granite massifs and the glaciers that dominate the horizon is also obtained.
The trail is perfectly marked, and along the route, there are interpretive signs that invite you to stop, learn, and at the same time enjoy the natural surroundings.
